Troon North Monument Golf Course- Scottsdale, AZ

Choosing golf courses for a Scottsdale trip is an incredibly difficult task. The sheer numbers are dizzying, with 50 courses close in, and over 200 in the greater Valley area. Even the number of top rated courses is in the double digits. However you finally get to your own short list, Troon North Monument Course should be on it. 

Opened in 1990, the Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish design is absolutley stunning. While there are some homes lining the fairways, the desert vistas are spectacular. Similar to the nearby Boulders courses, rock formations are found on several holes. Difficult, but incredibly fun to play, it’s an excellent desert golf experience, and will remain on my Scottsdale short list.
