TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley (Heathlands)- Caledon, ON
TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley is in no way located in Toronto. It is however a fabulous golf course, and is worth the hour plus drive from Toronto to play. As there are three golf courses at Osprey, it is even more worth it to make it a weekend, and play them all.
The first course constructed on site, Healthlands, was designed by Doug Carrick on land that was a former gravel quarry. Opened in 1992, it was inspired by Portmarnock Golf Club in Dublin, a links course. While Healthlands may not be on the coast, it does have man-made windswept dunes, fescue and plenty of pot bunkers.
Under Doug’s direction, a magnificent golf course emerged from the wasteland. Incredibly scenic and sweeping, it is a challenging course that is fun to play. It is certainly one of the best courses in the Toronto area. At some point, a new clubhouse and overnight accommodations will be added, transforming the complex to a weekend destination. Until that happens, Millcroft Inn and Spa is around the corner.
