There aren’t many boutique hotel choices in Irving, Texas. The Dallas suburb is all quite new and planned, so don’t expect any historic options either. But they do have the Texican Court- a vintage inspired motel, which is close enough.
Opened in 2018, it features a Spanish Mission design, with it’s 152 retro inspired rooms facing 3 open courtyards. There are fire pits, lawn games and a pool, all elements that draw guests out of their rooms. The rooms themselves have an updated mid-century design, all the charm, none of the shag.
Everything here is well designed and styled, and definitely creates a vibe. The petite tequila bar, couldn’t be cuter, and offers excellent mezcal margarita options. The live country music in the courtyard definitely plays to sense of place. Honestly, it feels like a college campus, in the best possible way. All the fun, no classes in the morning. Well done, Texican Court.
