UVA Rotunda- Charlottesville, VA
The Rotunda at UVA is the most classic of all NeoClassical architecture. Designed by Thomas Jefferson, who was inspired by the work of Andrea Palladio, it still shines over two hundred years after its construction.

Keswick Hall- Keswick, VA
I stayed at Keswick Hall years ago, and loved it. It was a little worn, but still charming. It also had the most beautiful infinity pool I had ever seen. After that short stay, I always planned to revisit. Well, I finally did, only to find it all much changed- including the impossibly perfect pool.

Full Cry Golf Course- Keswick, VA
Full Cry Golf Course is certainly not afraid of change. Originally constructed in 1948 as a 9 hole track, it has been tinkered with several times over the years, culminating in today's polished course.

The Inn & Tavern at Meander- Locus Dale, VA
In the best possibly way, a stay at Meander feels like visiting an elderly relative, who lives on a grand old Southern estate. From the moment you turn into the drive, you enter another world. The vast property is perfect for exploring, with remnants of the past scattered about like Easter eggs, waiting to be discovered.

Cascades Golf Course (Omni)- Hot Springs, VA
Despite my fondness for historic hotels, Omni Homestead was a one and done for me. Although I loved its history (and architecture), it was too impersonal and family friendly. However, I have lots of love for their classic William Flynn designed golf course, one of the most beautiful mountain courses in the United States.
