Located on a dusty dirt road that feels far more rural than it is, the Rye Tavern has been welcoming travelers since 1792. Once a stagecoach stop on Old Sandwich Road known as The Cornish Tavern, it was one of the more popular taverns of its time, attracting historic notables such as John Adams, who rode out a storm there in 1794.
