White Elephant- Nantucket, MA
Nantucket's White Elephant is such an iconic New England hotel, everyone should stay there once. It just exudes vintage charm, and captures the essence of Old Cape Cod. Which may or may not be fiction, but it aligns with my idea of what it was like, back then.

Chatham Bars Inn- Chatham, MA
Chatham Bars Inn personifies Old Cape Cod, or at least how I picture it. A stately shingled hotel, looking out over the water. A large grassy lawn, where late afternoon cocktails are consumed. A collection of cottages above windswept dunes. And, of course, a serene white sand beach.

Gurney’s Newport (Harbor Island)- Newport, RI
Gurney's has hotels in Scottsdale and Montauk. Up until last year, it had one in Newport. They made the right decision by selling that property. Although renovated, the property felt very dated, and the rooms were very basic. Basic and expensive.

Looking like a idealized New England watercolor, the Curtis Island Lighthouse sits at the head of Camden's harbor. First established in 1835, the current brick tower dates to 1896.
