El Camaleón Golf Course at Mayakoba, Playa del Carmen, MX
Located in the gated Mayakoba complex, Greg Norman's El Camaleón is one of the most unique and exciting courses you will ever play. It's certainly the first time I ever had to contend with a cenote in the middle of the fairway, and coatis on the tee box.

Banyan Tree Mayakoba- Playa del Carmen, MX
Years ago, I watched a golf tournament played on an unbelievably beautiful course. The fairways were surrounded by dense jungle, flanked by a network of mangrove canals. I immediately vowed to visit one day, to wind through the wild waterways in an impossibly quaint little boat emblazoned with Mayakoba on the back. That day arrived in 2024.

Thunder Cove Beach- Darnley, PE
Although Thunder Cove’s famous Teacup Rock was lost to Fiona in 2022, it is still a remarkably beautiful beach. Here, striking red sandstone cliffs and caves create a surreal Martian landscape that just begs to be photographed.

Covehead Harbour Lighthouse- York, PE
While the current Covehead Harbour lighthouse only dates to 1975, it is still incredibly charming. A mere 26 feet tall (the smallest on Prince Edward Island), its square tapered tower has unique wooden brackets, cheery red deck and a 100 year old Fresnel Lens from Dalhousie, New Brunswick.

Greenwich Dune Trail- Prince Edward Island NP
Winding through wetlands and coastal dunes, then across a pond via a floating walkway, the Greenwich Dune Trail might just be the most scenic in all of Prince Edward Island. Mostly flat, and under three miles round trip, it is breathtakingly beautiful and not to be missed.
