Château Frontenac-Quebec City, QC
Château Frontenac is said to be the most photographed hotel in the world. This is absolutely believable, because it is impossibly photogenic, and definitely one of the most stunning hotels I have ever seen- a dreamy castle in the sky, perched over one of the most beautiful cities in North America.

FLW’s Martin House- Buffalo, NY
For years I have been meaning to visit Buffalo, New York. It's a bit of an architectural promised land to me, with all manner of historical home styles scattered around the city. While I still haven't made a proper Buffalo visit happen, I was recently able to do a quick overnight, which included a tour of Frank Lloyd Wright's Martin House. It definitely left me wanting more: more of the city, more FLW house tours, and more of the Martin House complex. I will return.

The Inn & Tavern at Meander- Locus Dale, VA
In the best possibly way, a stay at Meander feels like visiting an elderly relative, who lives on a grand old Southern estate. From the moment you turn into the drive, you enter another world. The vast property is perfect for exploring, with remnants of the past scattered about like Easter eggs, waiting to be discovered.

The Wauwinet- Nantucket, MA
I love staying at hotels. I frequently plan trips around them, and maintain a long list of properties I would like to visit in the future. Not all hotels live up to my expectations of course, but that disappointment is far outweighed by the sheer joy of staying at a truly extraordinary property. The Wauwinet is that kind of place.
