The Phoencian Golf Course- Scottsdale, AZ
When the Phoenician Golf Course opened in 1981, it featured 27 holes designed by Jack Snyder. It probably also featured a lot less construction- at least for a few years, until the resort opened. Today, it seems like the course is in danger of being devoured by development- ironically in some places by golf villas.

El Camaleón Golf Course at Mayakoba, Playa del Carmen, MX
Located in the gated Mayakoba complex, Greg Norman's El Camaleón is one of the most unique and exciting courses you will ever play. It's certainly the first time I ever had to contend with a cenote in the middle of the fairway, and coatis on the tee box.

Cobble Beach Golf Links- Kemble, ON
Opened in 2007, Cobble Beach is a Doug Carrick (Eagles Nest, Osprey Valley) links style design, inspired by Pebble Beach. While it may not be quite as dramatic, it is a solid scenic play.

Fox Harb’r Golf Course- Fox Harbor, NS
Designed by Graham Cooke in 2001, this beautiful course was the idea of Tim Horton's co-founder Ron Joyce. No expense was spared in its construction, and the result is a stunning championship course where Tiger Woods hold the club record.
