Eagles Nest Golf Club- Maple, ON
Eagles Nest is by far the best public golf option in the greater Toronto area. Designed by Doug Carrick in 2004, it's comparable to the Heathlands Course at TPC Osprey Valley, but quite a bit closer to Toronto. Built on the site of a former gravel and sand quarry, the course plays like a true links style course, with towering dunes, vast waste areas and numerous pot bunkers.

Bulle Rock Golf Club-Havre de Grace, MD
Bulle Rock Golf Club is frequently listed as the best public golf course in Maryland. To be clear, it is really nice. It is also a Pete Dye course, so it is really, really hard. Unless your handicap is under 5, you probably just shouldn't keep score.
