Guild Park and Gardens- Scarborough, ON
So many beautiful, well constructed buildings have been lost to "progress" over the years. I mourn each and everyone one of these losses, in almost a personal way. While these buildings can never be brought back, at the Guild Park and Gardens, key elements have been preserved.

Tucked in under the dense canopy of the Costa Rica rainforest, Nayara Springs is practically perfect. An adults only enclave, with a magnificent spa, it is the quintessential relaxing resort.

Tabacón Thermal Resort is an absolute dream. Like a trip to Fantasy Island, sans seaplane and Mr. Rourke (and supernatural scenarios). It's the embodiment of every tropical vacation you have ever longed for (minus the beach), and its memory will carry you through even the coldest of future winters.

FLW’s Martin House- Buffalo, NY
For years I have been meaning to visit Buffalo, New York. It's a bit of an architectural promised land to me, with all manner of historical home styles scattered around the city. While I still haven't made a proper Buffalo visit happen, I was recently able to do a quick overnight, which included a tour of Frank Lloyd Wright's Martin House. It definitely left me wanting more: more of the city, more FLW house tours, and more of the Martin House complex. I will return.

New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill- Boylston, MA
The New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill is 171 acres of absolute awesomeness. Featuring 18 distinct gardens, miles of walking trails, and fantastic scenic overlooks, Tower Hill is an absolute green dream.
