Kelso Depot- Kelso, CA
Kelso Depot, like a mirage, just appears before your eyes in the middle of the Mojave National Preserve. Channel Islands National Park- CA

But all is not lost. Among the Yellowstones and Yosemites live lesser known gems, that you will practically have to yourself. A perfect example is Channel Islands National Park- a naturalist’s paradise located off the coast of Santa Barbara, California.

Ojai, CA
Oh my, Ojai. You beautiful, sleepy, artistic little town. A bit hippy, a bit healthy, and a whole lot of fun. Every bit as lovely as the neighboring Ojai Valley Inn & Spa, if you are in search of a laid back escape, look no further.

Ojai Valley Inn & Spa- Ojai, CA
Ojai Valley Inn & Spa is nothing short of amazing. It is impossibly beautiful. As far as resorts go, it has few rivals. Between the breathtaking mountain views, the citrus scented air, and the resort amenities, you will never want to leave. You might assume this is an exaggeration, but I assure you it is not. Absolute loveliness.
