National Gallery of Canada- Ottawa, ON
Although a fan of landscape paintings, I had never heard of the Group of Seven or Tom Thomson before moving to Canada. However, after a visit to the McMicheal Canadian Art Collection, I was hooked. While the Art Gallery of Ontario holds an impressive collection of their work, some of the Group's most famous works are displayed in the National Gallery of Canada- the perfect excuse for a trip to Ottawa.

Admittedly, some of his pieces feel dated (creepy, large eyed children), but the gallery itself is a visually stunning work of genius.
