While Camelback may be the most popular mountain hike in the Phoenix area, Pinnacle Peak is just as scenic, and quite a bit easier. You can also reach the summit in under an hour, so if you don’t have a lot of time, this hike’s for you.
A prominant geologic feature in the North Scottsdale area, the trail up to its granite summit offers excellent views of the valley below. Snaking around the peak through the Sonoran desert, the out and back trail is 3.5 miles round trip, and most pleasant in the winter months.
