Located on a rugged windswept spit of land on the southwestern tip of Cape Cod sits the unbelievably picturesque Nobksa Lighthouse. Constructed in 1876, the forty foot brick and metal tower features Italianate window surrounds and a ten sided lantern house with an iron balcony.
While the last civilian light keeper retired in 1973, the Coast Guard manned the light until 1985, when it was automated. In 2016, the Town of Falmouth was granted a license to restore and maintain the light station property, as well as the adjacent light keeper’s house.
