For years, the Molly Brown House was on my Denver To Do list. An elaborate 1880s stone Queen Anne is a rare breed indeed, and absolutely not to be missed. Sadly, my previous glimpses of the stately exterior proved to be far more satisfying than an interior tour.
Access is by guided tour only, and mine was very crowded. An absolute swarm of people packed into some pretty small spaces. Additionally, although hints of the Victorian home’s former glory remain, it feels very refurbished, and secondary to mountains of Molly memorabilia. That said, the stained glass is spectacular, as is the staircase woodwork.
