Mercer Museum- Doylestown, PA

Built in 1916, just a few years after Fonthill Castle was completed, the fortress-like Mercer Museum contains an amazing array of early American objects. Constructed of concrete by Henry Mercer to house his extensive, eclectic collection of art, tiles, tools, transportation and trade items, it’s every bit as dramatic as his home. With soaring ceilings and large scale items, it’s a pleasure to explore the vast interior. You have absolutely no idea what you might find.
