Conceived by the Canadian National Park Service in the throes of the Great Depression, Stanley Thompson’s 1939 classic links course is still magnificent. Considered an homage to the sport’s Scottish roots, the course is perennially listed as one of the Top 10 tracts in Canada.
Built over a decade after Sleepy Hollow (1925) and Banff Springs(1927), Thompson used his experience to craft 18 exquisite holes, that follow the coastal topography before ascending into the foothills. This elevation change makes it a challenging walk, and left us wishing we had gone with a cart, but also offers an unforgettable experience. A must play course for any golfer traveling the Cabot Trail.
