El Camaleón Golf Course at Mayakoba, Playa del Carmen, MX

Located in the gated Mayakoba complex, Greg Norman’s El Camaleón is one of the most unique and exciting courses you will ever play. It’s certainly the first time I ever had to contend with a cenote in the middle of the fairway, and coatis on the tee box. 

Extremely photogenic and kept in excellent condition, it’s a challenging course that’s fun to play. Cutting through the dense jungle, with fairways boardered by canals, the course is largely unmarred by development. It was the site of the PGA’s Mayakoba Golf Classic until 2022, and now hosts LIV golf tournaments.
