Early Mountain Vineyard in many ways feels like a really nice restaurant that makes good wine. The food program here is just about the best I have ever experienced at a vineyard- which makes sense, as their chef previously worked at the illustrious Inn at Little Washington.
Ingredients here are all very local and fresh, so expect the menu to change frequently. Just go with the flow- it all will be fabulous. During our visit we enjoyed local cheeses, as well as steamed muscles and halibut quenelles.
That is not to suggest that the food is the only reason to visit Early Mountain. The wine here is also excellent. They have several great options featuring Cab Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot. A bit of a splurge, their Rise 2019 is worth bringing home for a special occasion.
