Looking like a idealized New England watercolor, the Curtis Island Lighthouse sits at the head of Camden’s harbor. First established in 1835, the current brick tower dates to 1896. The adjacent keeper’s house, barn and boathouse were built a bit earlier, in 1889. The island is a public park, but accessible only via private boat. On shore, the best views can be found from Bayview Street, where a short wooded trial leads to an island overlook.
