Castle Hill Lighthouse- Newport, RI
Built in 1890 in the Romanesque style, possibly designed by Henry Hobson Richardson himself, the Castle Hill Lighthouse has been an active navigational aide for over 100 years. Nestled into the rocky coastline, in an impossibly scenic location, it guides ships through the East Passage of Narragansett Bay, while also acting as a popular proposal site.

Nobska Light- Falmouth, MA
Located on a rugged windswept spit of land on the southwestern tip of Cape Cod sits the unbelievably picturesque Nobksa Lighthouse. Constructed in 1876, the forty foot brick and metal tower features Italianate window surrounds and a ten sided lantern house with an iron balcony. While the last civilian light keeper retired in 1973, the Coast Guard manned the light until 1985, when it was automated. In 2016, the Town of Falmouth was granted a license to restore and maintain the light station property, as well as the adjacent light keeper’s house.

Scituate Light- Scituate, MA
There is something incredibly lonesome about a lighthouse. Located in the most inhospitable places, they exist to warn of danger. Add stormy seas, and there are few things more moody and dramatic. Dating to 1811, Scituate Light is no exception. Although removed from service over a century ago, the photogenic octagonal tower with a green lantern room still attracts attention. Although only occasionally open for tours, the exterior is accessible to the public.
